Yapak 2 is actually a wall called Yapak in which you will find Yapak 1 and Yapak 2. They are divided into two separate dive sites because each site covers one wall. Yapak 2 is a five star dive site and you will see exactly why it has the honor of receiving this recognition. This dive spot is located around ten to fifteen minutes away from the northern shore at boat station 1.
First you will experience a blue sea descent into the depths of the dive spot and then you will be able to see the wall that covers the Yapak 2 dive spot. You will find incredible marine species here such as Tuna, Sweetlips, Red Bass, White Tip Reef Sharks, Eagle Ray, Green Sea Turtles, and if you dive early you will see Manta Rays. This dive is incredibly deep and you need to have different certifications until you can dive.
Yapak 2 should only be attempted by experienced divers with deep dive certification and an advanced open water certification. If you have a tech diver certification you can g as deep as 60 meters to see the reef sharks and the manta rays. The maximum depth is 60 meters and the minimum depth for the regular dive is 30 meters. This dive spot can have mild to strong currents and you often need to navigate your entry with your dive guide or instructor.
Yapak 2 is a dive site you will never forget and thus you need to pay accordingly. Your cost per dive ranges from $30 to $45 due to the experience level and depth level which makes the dive more difficult for both the diver and the dive guide. Equipment is available in almost every dive shop and dive resort if you need to rent and even tech divers can get additional tanks and equipments in certain dive shops and resorts located in boat station 1.
Yapak 2 belongs to a must-dive in the Philippines and it absolutely has to be on your divers itinerary. If you want to belong to the more experienced crowds that have seen a lot already, then Yapak 2 is the right spot for your special diving experiences.
