Virgin Drop in Boracay - Philippines

The Virgin Drop dive site is situated right between two other popular Boracay dive sites; the Camia Ship Wreck and the Fridays Rock. You can reach the Virgin Drop dive site with a 15 minute boat ride from the boat station one or two in the Boracay shores. Once you have embarked into the dive site, you should definitely make sure to bring your dive computer along into the depths of the Virgin Drop.

The Virgin Drop dive site is a long wall that goes on and on. You will find many crevices and cracks where you will see critters hiding themselves away from the rest of the marine civilization. You will see hard and soft corals, crinoids and huge gorgonian sea fans during your descent down into the Virgin Drop. The Virgin Drop is definitely not suitable for open water levels because of the depth. The minimum depth itself is already 14 meters which exceeds the 12 to 18 meters open water level limit. The currents can shift easily and make this dive a drift dive in no time, which means that you have to be experienced enough to handle the pressure of a deep dive and the pull of a drift dive.

The cost for one dive to the Virgin Drop dive site should cost around $25 with extra charges if you are going to dive with Nitrox. We recommend however that you use a higher oxygen blend if you are thinking of going with Nitrox because the maximum depth is 36 meters and if you take EAN 32, then you might be running risk of oxygen toxicity if you plan to go deep. Nitrox usually costs an additional $5 to $10.
