Laguna de Boracay

The marine environment is simply breathtaking in the eventful island of Boracay. This island is absolutely perfect and while you can explore the underwater world by day, you can celebrate life throughout the night, but make sure that you get the proper rest because you know what they say; a tired diver is not a diver at all. The famous dive spots are all located in the west side of the island, but this great site is the only dive site with the Tulobhan Reef that is located in the so called east backside of the island and this site is called Laguna de Boracay.

Laguna de Boracay is often used in times when the currents are too strong on the west coast of the island, since the east side is protected by the curved ends of the island. The dive site is called Laguna de Boracay which roughly translated means the lagoon of Boracay. You can reach this place from the east side of boat station one and two, but some dive resorts and dive guides opt to go all the way around the island with their boats instead of just crossing the island on land to the other side of the shore. Laguna de Boracay can be reached from the shore and it takes a five to ten minute swim with all your gear ready of course. If you go all the way around the island, expect a one to two hour ride with the speedboat.

Laguna de Boracay is covered with corals, both hard and soft. You will be able to find various sized clams which always make a good dive picture and you can find many different species of anemones. If you tickle the featherstars, you might be able to find some special critters, but aside from critters, you will be able to find extravagant lionfish, stonefish, stealthy scorpionfish, sea squirts and graceful butterflyfish.

The Laguna de Boracay dive spot is ideal for beginners and all kinds of diver levels. The minimum depth is 5 meters and extends all the way up to a maximum depth of 20 meters. There are usually no currents in the Laguna de Boracay, but there are sometimes light currents with which you can sail along. The Laguna de Boracay dive site is a promising four-star site.

The costs for a dive to the Laguna de Boracay including diving gear and extras range about $20 to $35. The weights, tank, guides and the transportation are already included in the price. If you want to rent equipment, you have to pay an extra rental fee. Take your Boracay trip to the next level and join a dive to the Laguna de Boracay as soon as possible.
