Habagat Kiteboarding

With kiteboarding / kitesurfing now all the rage in Boracay you are probably curious and want to give it a try. The Habagat Kiteboarding Center, with its extensive training courses and sophisticated equipment, can provide for your basic needs and much more.

The Habagat Kiteboarding Center is located at Bulabog Beach, in Boracay. If you are at White Beach, you can get a tricycle (you can find several near DMall at the main road; the cost is about 60 Php) and tell the driver you want to go to the Habagat Center. It will only take about 15 minutes. Alternatively, you can head to the Pacific Patio (or Pink Patio as it is sometimes called) and walk up to the beach. From there you will come across the Center.

For those who have no experience or would like to learn it in depth, the Habagat Kiteboarding Center offers extensive and varied training courses. An introductory course costs 42 Euros (2,700 Php) while a 1 day course (with an IKO certification) costs 95 Euros (6,000 Php). The 3 day course has a fee of 270 Euros (17,000 Php). The courses offered are comprehensive and all the pertinent aspects, such as piloting and spot analysis are covered.

The other advanced courses that the Habagat Kiteboarding Center includes assessing and evaluating the power of the kite, going up, changing directions, and making jumps. You can also have private tutorials. A 60 minute session costs about 50 Euros (3,250 Php), while advanced courses (using advanced equipment) costs 135 Euros (8,700 Php).

All the instructors at the Habagat Kiteboarding Center are duly licensed by the International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO). To make things easier the courses are offered in four languages: French, English, Filipino and German.

You can rent equipment from the Habagat Kiteboarding Center too. For half a day the cost is 50 Euros (3,250 Php); for a whole day it is 80 Euros (5,200 Php) and for 5 days 320 Euros (20,000 Php). In addition the shop located at the Center provides you with all the latest equipment and paraphernalia you will need to get the most out of your time there. There are also boat trips that you can avail of, giving you the opportunity to go around Boracay and see the many delights that abound.

Kiteboarding is an enjoyable experience, but the Habagat Kiteboarding Center raises the level and ups the ante even more. By making it easy for you to learn the sport, it wont be long before you are gliding and surfing in the beaches of Boracay with the rest of them.
