From Angeles to Boracay
Since the Philippines is an archipelago, some may have thought that the only option to get into Boracay is to travel by sea. However, that may not always be the case especially if youre traveling from Angles to Boracay. There are other options available to you when youre island hopping in the Philippines. Alternative transportation options are available to you if you are traveling from Angeles to Boracay. By far, the easiest way to get there is to take a domestic flight from Angeles City to the town of Caticlan, in Aklan province.
The plane trip will usually last a little more than an hour and will cost around P3,800. Once you get to Caticlan, you get on a boat at the jetty port to get to Boracay. If a direct flight to Caticlan isnt available, your next option is to drive to Manila then fly from Manila to Caticlan. The trip from Manila will be cost around the same price as the trip from Angeles to Boracay. You will just add an hour or more to your travel time since youll be driving all the way to Manila. If there are no flights from Manila to Caticlan, your other option is to take a Manila to Kalibo flight. From Kalibo you can either ride a bus or an air-conditioned van to Caticlan, which adds about an hour to your travel time.
If you are looking for the cheapest mode of transport from Angeles to Boracay you will have to go by boat. Youll have to drive from Angeles to Manila and go by ferry from there, which will drop you off at Dumaguit. From Dumaguit you then take a bus to Caticlan and then to Boracay island.
The ferry will generally be a lot cheaper than the airfare. However, ferry prices will depend on the type of accommodations you take. Regular ferry prices will go around P600, which may go up to P3,000 for luxury accommodations. Of course, the ferry from Manila will take the most time but will be quite an adventure for anyone.
