The beginnings of the college began in the late 1930s, as the administrators and future officers of the school decided that there needed to be a collegiate facility in the area, but the onset of World War II derailed the building of the Aklan Catholic College. In the year 1945, at the end of the war, the administrators set about creating the school proper. On August 18 of that year the by laws of the college were drafted and approved. On the same year the college was finally opened.

Over 180 students participated, the number of which would increase as the years went by. As the years passed by, numerous courses were added including law, business, various courses in economics, and other courses. In the early 1990s, in view of the increasing demand, courses involving computers, IT and nursing were added.

The Aklan Catholic College, in spite of setbacks and obstacles, continues in its aim of providing education for the younger generation, and the success of their graduates is a testament to the quality of the school itself.
